Our New Favorite Fitness Gadgets

I’ve never been the type of person to use fitness gadgets in my workout. I didn’t fall into the Ab-Roller fad, the Shake Weight didn’t make it into my hands, and if I was alive at the time, Suzanne Somers wouldn’t have sold me a ThighMaster. However, these are some gadgets I would love to give into.

Finis Neptune is basically an underwater headphone set. You attach the gadget your goggles and through some scientific mombo-jumbo you can hear it. Swimming is such an amazing type of exercise that reaches so many different muscles, but it’s boring! Being able to listen to music in the water would definitely make it a more enjoyable and meaningful workout.

Trace is a pedometer for extreme sports enthusiasts. This shockproof, waterproof, and durable tracker is ideal for skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding/skiing. After mounting the gadget on the board, it tracks all the stunts and tricks you’ve landed. Using the app also allows you to follow your friends who use Trace, and see what stunts they have landed.

HAPIfork is more of a nutritional gadget than a fitness gadget, but we all know nutrition is just as important. This fork will track your eating habits. If you begin to shovel it in, at a rapid pace, the fork will vibrate to let you know. With the shared app, the fork can also track how many “servings” you’ve eaten related to portion control. I think it’s a great concept, but its $99. I might just be better off measuring my food and counting to ten into between.
